Case Study at a Glance
How ISW reports results: Measured results are stated as measured. Client-reported and ISW-estimated outcomes are identified as such, and unverified figures are not presented as results.
DBK Interiors did not need another giant technology project. It needed to stop paying for the same information over and over again with the owner’s time. DBK’s work crosses interior design, procurement, e-commerce, project coordination, and selective event work. Products, dimensions, finishes, pricing, suppliers, schedules, and client decisions all have to stay connected as a project moves forward. The information existed. The problem was how often someone had to go searching for it again.
Product records could be incomplete or inconsistent. Supplier details had to be looked up repeatedly. Missing fields slowed schedule preparation.
Information that should have become reusable knowledge was creating repeated work the next time the same product or vendor appeared. No single lookup looked like a major problem.
That is how a lot of owner-led administrative work survives: five minutes here, ten minutes there, a product detail rebuilt for the second or third time, or a missing field discovered when the schedule is already being prepared. The business keeps paying for information it already had because the information was never made easy enough to reuse. That was the opportunity the AI Clarity Audit™ uncovered.
The Audit Found Four Opportunities. DBK Only Needed One to Start.
The Audit identified four possible areas for improvement:
- Programa spec-library cleanup
- Client status updates
- Install-day planning
- Turning completed work into reusable marketing assets
The first recommendation was deliberately smaller.
Clean 25 Frequently Used Product and Vendor Records
Programa was already part of DBK’s workflow. Rather than introducing another platform, the Audit recommended improving the information inside the system Karla already used. Programa’s existing tools could capture product images, dimensions, finishes, descriptions, and pricing. AI could help standardize naming and identify missing information. Karla or her team would still verify the details that mattered, including pricing, dimensions, lead times, availability, substitutions, and final client specifications. The pilot was supposed to answer a simple question:
If we clean 25 records properly, does the work get easier enough to keep going? DBK answered that question faster than expected.
Karla Did Not Stop at 25
Instead of cleaning the initial 25 records, Karla cleaned her entire product and spec library across all of her projects. ISW did not build a custom application to make that happen. There was no large development project. The Audit gave her a clear enough opportunity, a practical enough approach, and a small enough first move that she could act on it herself. Karla also acted independently on other recommendations from the Audit. Those actions were separate from the three remaining formal pilots, which have not yet been run, so no results from those pilots are claimed here.
That is what makes the DBK story different. The Audit did not create value because it led immediately to more ISW work. It created value because the client knew what to do next.
What Changed
A Clean, Complete, Reusable Spec Library
Before the cleanup, DBK was dealing with repeated product lookups, incomplete or inconsistent records, and schedule preparation slowed by missing information. The library is now clean, complete, and reusable. Information that once had to be found or cleaned repeatedly can now become part of the next project’s starting point.
That changes the value of the work. The first time someone researches a product, it is a task. The second time they have to reconstruct the same information, it is rework. A useful system should make the first effort pay off again later.
An Estimated 3-4 Hours Back Every Week
Based on ISW’s work with DBK, the implemented opportunity is estimated to save Karla approximately 3 to 4 hours per week. But where that reclaimed time is going is already clear: Back into proposals and client-facing work.
That matters more than simply saying an administrative task became faster.
The Real Result Was Not the Cleanup
The visible result is a better spec library. The more important result is what Karla no longer has to give the library: her time and repeated attention. For an owner, there is a meaningful difference between spending three hours tracking down product details, cleaning records, and filling missing fields and spending those same three hours talking to a client, working on a proposal, making design decisions, or moving the business forward.
Both take time. Only one requires the owner. The goal was not to make Karla faster at administrative work. It was to make less administrative work require Karla.
What DBK Hasn’t Done Yet Matters Too
The original Audit included three additional formal pilots, covering client-status updates, install-day planning and content. Those pilots have not been run, so no results from them are claimed here. DBK is currently at the Audit and Roadmap stage and is now discussing possible development work with ISW. That sequence is important because the conversation about building more came after DBK had already acted on the Audit, not before.
A useful Audit should not leave you thinking: Great. Now I need to buy another project before any of this helps. It should leave you knowing:
This is where I start.
The Bigger Takeaway
A lot of businesses already have the information they need. They have customer histories, product details, templates, project notes, processes, and records of past decisions. The problem is that the information is often just messy enough that a person has to keep rebuilding context every time the business needs it. And when the owner is the person who knows how to fill the gaps, the business quietly starts using the owner’s memory as part of the operating system.
DBK did not solve that problem by buying more software. It started by making existing information usable. The Audit made the opportunity visible. The recommendation made the first move small enough to try. And once Karla saw the value, she took it much further than the original pilot required.
Client Perspective
“The AI Clarity Audit gave me a much clearer picture of where my time was going and made me realize just how much I was trying to manage myself. It gave me a strong foundation for identifying where AI could genuinely support my business. Since then, I’ve restructured my workflow to be more productive and focus my time on the areas of my business that matter most.”

Your Business Probably Has Information You Keep Paying to Rebuild
It may not be product specifications. It may be proposals, client history, pricing, project notes, vendor information, onboarding steps, reports or templates.
The question isn’t only “Do we have this information?” It’s “Can the business actually reuse it without someone rebuilding it every time?”
